Will the new DVR features be included in Plex for Android? As the King of My Plex I think it would be nice to have more administrator type controls from the Plex for Android clients not just the DVR features.
You would think keeping the mobile app features aligned would be a priority but apparently not.
its only been 2 weeks since the last beta release, im holding out hope for something great this week!
Announcement out today that it’s available. But only with PMS version 1.8. Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be a PMS version 1.8. Maybe it’ll get released at least for Plex Pass later today.
Yeah. I got all excited when I saw the changelog when updating my phone only to realize that PMS 1.8 isn’t out. Grr! Hopefully soon. I’ve been toying with a competitor due to the dvr and live tv features not out to my devices (a roku, multiple fire sticks, and android devices). Mainly what I want is the ability to record a show and start watching it x number of minutes in and then catch up to it skipping commercials. Haven’t heard if that’s possible…
Well, just updated to the latest and I had DVR management for about 30 seconds. App froze and now I can’t get it back.

I updated to the latest beta and can’t even see it!

I got it back after a restart. Not sure why it needed a restart, but it’s back…for now.
I spoke too soon. It disappeared again.
@mbarylski it is still there, sometimes it takes a good 2 minutes for the option to show up.
I can only assume this is a bug, and will be fixed 
@henderjr I’ve seen a thread on here somewhere from a plex employee saying that this is coming, but it’d be a couple of months away. Timeshift within live tv first and then playing something that’s recording later.

Thanks I’ll probably just continue to use Emby to record and watch any live TV until these things get sorted out. Love the look and feel of Plex over Emby it’s just behind the DVR/Timeshifting features.

It appears to be really close. DVR management is here for Android now, and for whatever reason it’s working better than when it posted last week. I’m no longer waiting several minutes to see DVR Mgt, Live TV, and recording schedule on Android. Only thing we’re waiting on now is timeshifting which appears to require the PMS v1.8.

Yep thanks for the reply. I keep checking for PMS v1.8. Weird they mention it in the changelog for Android but not make it available to install.
I’m able to get the DVR managment stuff now too which is nice though I really want to see that plus time shifting on my three TVs which are all using plex with Amazon Fire devices (two sticks and one 4k box). They don’t even have the DVR managment yet. Emby works fine in that department. But otherwise it’s ugly compared to Plex.

Yep, I’ve been checking too. Figured it would be out this week since it was mentioned in the release announcement.
Hopefully you’ll get the update on Amazon Fire soon though. My main “TV device” is an Xbox One, so I’ll probably be waiting awhile.
