DVR - Movies only recording ~ 60 minutes due to advertisment / news update breaks

When i view “upcoming movies” within the DVR section of Plex & record a movie, the full movie isn’t being recorded correctly.

The movie is shown as an upcoming recording in the EPG grid, however some UK freesat channels airing a movie which have say a 5 minute news update / advertisement break in the middle of the movie result in only the first part of a movie being recorded. I recorded 5 movies last week which all ended up recording approx 60 minute duration despite the full movie being shown on the EPG grid as scheduled to record.

Im not sure whether this is a bug / epg related or whether having ‘allow partial airings’ unselected in the DVR menu options is causing this issue?

Previously using EPG from Gracenote all my movies recorded successfully with commercials removed.

Any help / advice appreciated.

I’ve just had the same happen to me a couple times.
I have partial recordings allowed and remove commercials enabled.
Films without such explicit breaks are recording fine, it’s when there is a distinct news break as suggested above.
Both halves of the film are shown as ‘recording scheduled’ in web EPG, with Liar Liar for example (tonight at 7:15) showing 65 and 35 mins, however when searching for the film in the search bar of plex web app it only shows a length of 65 mins (the first section of the film), and starting time of the first section 7:15.
Liar Liar, as the example, is 86 minutes in length.
Despite clicking record on the second 35 section as well, the schedule still only shows a 65 minute recording time for the film, ending at 8:20 opposed to 9:00.
Going to try manually extending the end time by 40 minutes to finish at 9, hopefully it’ll be an ok work around for now?

Yes same here, wasted 6 movies over the last 3 weeks with only 45 minutes recorded.

Even if I try to record the other part manually, it doesn’t record as it things the film has already been recorded. My guide on my actual TV ignores these news breaks

Ah, I see on another post, that this has been reported to the EPG provider and awaiting a fix, in the meantime here is the workaround!

I will wait until its sorted! Have you also got issues with the EPG showing “to be announced”? Ive still got a few channels on UK Freesat showing this in my listings! Im hoping over time this will populate!

Ive tried deleting the DVR and selected a different Plex EPG listing but still shows the “to be announced” listings.

Not sure whether I should try my own xmltv… last time i tried to use xmltv the quality of EPG data and artwork wasnt that good!
