I am experiencing quite a lot of issues with DVR and record TV shows. One part is linked to the very poor EPG data since it was changed and the other part is due to a mix of situation. The poor EPG has been discussed 1 millions times in other topics and I would like to suggest to implement a new feature to avoid missing more tv shows recordings.
I ll take the example of TWD TV show which is aired more than once a day, usually one in English during the night (same time as US) and then in prime time in local language (Spanish I am in Madrid) (usually last week episode + a new episode for both)
When I look at the guide itself all the shows (night and prime time) are marked for record (red circles appear) but if I check on the list of next recordings, prime time are not there and will not be recorded. Let me also add that time schedule is not the same every week, it can change from +/- 15 minutes.
The issue is that the night episodes (vo) and the prime time ones (spanish) have the same EPG information and therefore it will not record prime time ones.
Suggestion: Would it be possible to implement a range of time where the episodes will be recorded? If I can set a range like from 8pm to 11:30PM, it will record only prime time ones and skipping the others.
There is a selection available today in Plex but it only allows you to select a specific hour (let’s say 9PM but episode prime time can start 8:45 up to 9:15 so it will not pick them if not precisely 09:00PM. (= DVR recording will only be active if there is a TWD TV show starting in that range of time) .
This could also help to avoid recording old episode aired in other periods of the day that are recorded due to very poor EPG.
