Windows Media Center places a red dot in the system tray to indicate it’s recording something. Such an indicator would be handy, as it would prevent one from having to fish around in Plex to determine whether the Plex DVR is recording a program when performing maintenance on the server - particularly when a reboot is required.

agreed, and when hovering over the red dot, you get a list of the shows being recorded. I find it very useful!
