I have a DVR/Tuner/Antenna setup that records 1080i recordings or whatever native OTA signals are available. I have an M1 Mac Mini as my server (had 2012 Mac mini until recently but same issues). The DVR and Live TV work great for most of my devices. My AppleTV 4K will playback with no issues. My older 1st Gen iPad Air will playback with no issues. But I have an iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 14.4 (latest update) and an iPad Gen 8 (latest) that will not stream/direct play or play when downloaded via Downloads and Syncs.
I get a buffering/thinking spinner and “Something went wrong with playing your media. Please try again”. After two attempts it moves onto the next episode in the series and does same thing. I’ve tried all different type of shows/series. It is just anything recorded via DVR that’s not working on these newer devices.
The files are not an issue as they are viewable other ways. They just won’t run on my latest iPhone or iPad devices. All my library files have no issue being viewed (mp4, mkv, and so on), just the DVR recorded shows. Has anyone had a similar issue or know of a quick fix? Maybe its a Plex version issue that maybe Can be rolled back or maybe just an advanced setting option. Anything will help. Thanks.
