I’ve been getting frustrating results trying to record sporting events with Plex, in this particular case the ongoing MLS is Back Tournament. For example, last night (2020-07-27) two games were played/aired:
San Jose Earthquakes vs. Real Salt Lake at 8:30pm EST
Seattle Sounders vs. Los Angeles FC at 11:30pm EST
However, when recording the ‘episodes’, the final files were named with the same date and time, resulting in Plex treating them as two versions of the same episode. These are the filenames as recorded:
MLS Soccer (2019) - 2020-07-27 08 00 00 - San Jose Earthquakes vs. Real Salt Lake.ts
MLS Soccer (2019) - 2020-07-27 08 00 00 - Seattle Sounders vs. Los Angeles FC.ts
In order to see the individual episodes properly within Plex I need to manually rename the files to add the correct time differentiation.
In fact, it seems like most live sporting events all seem to get the time set to 8 am (this is an issue I have been seeing with lots of recordings over the past week as I try to get things setup, not just this instance)
Below are some excerpts from the logs that show the DVRScheduler identifying the correct airing time when scheduling, but using the incorrect 8am time in the filename:

Another oddity is that until last night, all MLS recordings were placed under the ‘show’ directory of MLS Soccer (2009) in the library, but the two recordings from last night started a new directory tree under MLS Soccer (2019), which is annoying - though Plex does combine episodes from both folders under a single ‘show’ internally
