@sa2000 good news, running 1.15.8.1156 on my Qnap I am able to access the channels previously timed out. I checked on both our main TCL/Roku tv and other tv using Roku Premier. It still takes about 15-20 seconds but eventually the spinner shows the percentage loading and video works great. This is good progress, as I’m getting weary of being a “paying beta tester”.
Wouldn’t mind looking at debug logs for that if these channels do tune fast using the DVR software.
There is still one problem area identified when tuning a specific channel for user @workit247 that is being looked into - logs would indicate if it is a similar issue
I just sent you my log files via PM, thanks
Can’t find any channel tuning in the logs
The logs cover period May 31, 2019 15:25 to 15:57
What time was the tune that took 15-20 seconds?
@sa2000 I just sent you new logs with the session captured starting at 11:52
Thank you. I will look into in more detail.
Meanwhile could you look into getting access to command line in terminal on the QNAP and get me stream captures using curl for each of the 3 channels.
Break in on the capture after 2 minutes on each
curl http://10.0.10.60:5004/auto/v655 > chan48.ts
and
curl http://10.0.10.60:5004/auto/v657 > chan 44.ts
and
curl http://10.0.10.60:5004/auto/v107 > chan07.ts
You will probably need to upload the 3 files to dropbox or similar service and send me a link
Thanks
I have looked further into the logs. I don’t need the channel stream captures
Do you have a high number of scheduled recordings ?
Appears to be slow processing the schedule
Just an update. After looking into the logs in more detail, i can say that you are no longer getting tuning errors. What you have is a different issue which appears to be scheduler related - in that the actual tuning is not started till 11-23 seconds after it is requested by the client app.
I will move your post and replies to a new separate topic as it is unrelated to this topic which is for “Error - Unable to tune channel”
This topic was split from Plex DVR, Trying to watch Live TV but get error "Unable to tune channel (no parts)"
cc @spacehound
There is some evidence of activities overlapping within Plex Media Server and may explain the excessive delays and the 30 second timeout within the roku app on your 3rd tune.
The initial delay of 10+ seconds appears to be to do with the scheduling and possibly the number of scheduled programs. The timeout later at 30 seconds was because the 3rd tune took 34 seconds. My guess is that if you left a 15 seconds or so gap between stopping live tv tuned channel and selecting another one - that the timeout would not arise - but would still have the 10+ second delay
I am going to refer this now to the development team
Thank you for the logs
@sa2000 makes sense as I made the 3rd selection while the current channel was playing.
