I am not sure when this started, but this one channel fails every dvr recording.
it opens my tuner for 3 minutes then aborts with transcoder error
Logging has been difficult to sort through. This seems to be the initial failure point:
[Transcoder] Stream map ‘0:4’ matches no streams. To ignore this, add a trailing ‘?’ to the map.
I have a similar issue of just 41 and 686 not recording. I can schedule the recording, it seems to start, makes transcoder temp files, but doesn’t render a file, basically errors right away and says I have a transcoder issue. I have rebooted the win10 computer, updated to the latest beta Plex release, but have not changed or updated any video drivers or the OS for over a year. Other channels record as expected, no issues. What is also interesting is that I can watch those channels live, and I can rewind and scroll through the show while watching, just won’t record to watch it later.
Haven’t checked the logs, or know where to look.
Update 12/3/21. Since Plex support is lacking here I went ahead and downloaded NextPVR, which is free, but doesn’t have guide/channel data, I was able to record my channels that don’t record on Plex and determined that Plex is the issue. I recorded using the same silicon dust unit, on the same Plex/Windows computer that has the issue in Plex. There has to be something with Plex reading something and wanting to record these two channels. Just some incompatible thing I guess. Not sure I want to pay for a 3rd party guide service to get NextPVR to do my recording, but might do that if this doesn’t get fixed within Plex. Worked for a long time with Plex and all of a sudden it quit working. My other programs on any other channels record fine, no issues. I can literally record on these channels and get immediate failures and go to another channel that’s working and yup, it’ll record right away no issues. Somehow Plex just hate hates these two channels and works with everything else.
I just tested 660 also in Plex, no go. Plex says it’s recording, but it’s actually not. Plex software broke something recently.
I’m wondering why the OP isn’t running the latest version of PMS. You know they changed to a more recent transcoder in 1.25 so I suggest upgrading to the most recent beta which is 1.25.1.5286 and reporting back.
PMS should in theory be upgraded as soon as new versions are released otherwise it gets problematic tracking bugs. It’s already a nightmare.
As far as I know, I was on the latest release version when I reported this. As requested, I applied the latest update. I am now on 1.25.1.5286 and it says “up to date”
I tested the recording again, no change. same error.
FYI, Channels dvr has no problem recording this channel. Why have I had to try channels? because after 7 months they still refuse to fix the new guide and include a missing channel which is not a problem for Tivo or Channels DVR. (I am not happy with gracenote)
I still have no idea how to make sense of this logging.
