I use an hdhomerun extend and I have just recently started to have the same issues.
Recording 2154% complete see image. I’ve checked the status of hdhomerun, firmware up to date. Plex version up to date. Anyone find a fix?
Unfortunately, I’m seeing this too. (Ubuntu 1.9.2.4285)
Same issue happening here, very frustrating. Plex running on Windows 10.
Same issume with newest version on CentOS.
I am having the same issue Ubuntu server 1.9.2.4285
Also seeing this issue on Windows 10. I have a copy of the log file if that would help.
FYI, just ran across this in another thread. Looks like its actively being worked.
Same issue for me. Love my Plex but this is frustrating as it has been happening for quite a while.
That is exactly what I see as of yesterday (9th) but on Synology 415+ so not specific to a particular NAS. Not a super fast machine but it has always been rock solid and I haven’t had these issues at all before. It actually transcodes very well.

I’m having the same issue with plex server running on ubunutu with an HDHomeRun Extend. I’ve tried the following to try and fix it and the problem continues:
- Dedicated an SSD to the recording directory under ESXi
- Created a new plex server and dedicated one server to recording only
- Created a standalone plex server, not a VM with lots of RAM and processors
- Bought hauppauge PCIe tuner card for the stand alone plex server
- Maintain all three plex servers with the latest versions
The problems still continue and this is getting very frustrating.
Every now and then a new version of the plex server gets released and the problem goes away for a day or two, then recordings start stalling again. Perhaps the server reboot is what’s fixing it momentarily. Frustrating indeed.
I have version Version 1.9.6.4385 running on Mac High Sierra. I get the same issue. I can see in my alerts where a show starts to record, but I never see any alerts that it’s finished, or been processed.
+1 Same symptoms. I’ve missed my football games the past three weeks because of this. Seems to work until Sunday, or maybe it’s the 4 hour recording that’s messing it up? Very frustrating.
I’m on a PlexPass trial subscription. Not sure I can spend money on this if it’s not stable.
Do Plex developers monitor these forums and acknowledge issues?
any fix for this so far? Im running CentOS minimal and even the reboot wont work, I have lost a ton of “recorded” TV programs last night.
I have the same issue, with 10 shows looking like they are finished recording (i.e. red circle with full orange circle around it). Running 1.9.4.4325 on Windows 10, with PlexPass, and HDHomeRun Connect. If I restart Plex, I will lose everything… have already gone down that path. What’s the fix? This is an unacceptable bug.
Please fix this.
Just found it stuck again with 1.9.6.4401. Around a dozen recordings shown as transcribing and stuck, with no more recordings for 3 days when I finally noticed as I went to watch the missed shows.
Is it a older version of Plex that works?
I restarted my Plex and the show I recorded appeared
