I’ve using plex for a few years and decided to get a pass subscription so I can stream away from home. If it matters I’ve got an overkill setup with plex server running on a ubuntu server vm hosted on an esxi hypervisor with a nvidia 4060 being passed through.
Anyway,
Transcoding has been fine until I try streaming any media that has EAC3 audio. The stream turns all choppy. This happens on my phone, tablet, windows browser, and firestick (away from home). My research lead me to believe this is related to EAC3 and the plex player not being compatible or something so the server tries to convert on the fly with the CPU.
How do I transcode only the video so I don’t have an issue with my audio track?
