EAC3 Transcodes completely broken. "EAE timeout! EAE not running, or wrong folder?"

I just got a RTX A2000 (~3050 equivalent from what I read) for hardware transcodes as I have an older CPU ( 2x Xeon E5-2640 v4).
I got it installed in my server and its recognized. It works fast and great for 1080P content.
But for 4K content it just hangs indefinitely and gives me an error

"An unknown error occurred (4294967279)

Error code: 4294967279"

I tried turning off HDR Tone Mapping (Which this GPU supports AKAIK) but that didn’t fix anything either. I ran nvidia-smi and got this output

I tried deleting the codecs folder, changing the transcode folder and making sure permissions were correct etc. No fixes work for me.

Edit: I removed the GPU and even my CPU cannot do EAC3 transcodes anymore. Same error.

commonly ALSO occurs when you run out of Notify slots.
(The transcoder EAE needs 2 slots)

If the table is full, then EAE will fail.

Easy check for this:

  1. DEBUG loggging on. (SAVE if changes)
  2. Restart PMS
  3. Give it 3-4 minutes to fully come up and stabilize (add all folders)
  4. Download logs
  5. Open “Plex Media Server.log”
  6. Search for “No space left on device” (full table)

If this is the case, the solution is this procedure

Yup its showing up like crazy. I’ll try the fix in the thread you suggested and ill update here
