I click into Movies, TV,… which ever and defaults to Recommended, have to go over, up, click on Library to have my filter of Unplayed being active. Why do I have to do this every fricking time I go into a cat.? Like I said back when this new GUI was introduced. You shall not tell me what I should want to watch on my system!!! Remove Recommend, or stop having it default and remember what I want on my system!!!
On your Roku, go to Settings > Experience.
The first option on this page is ‘Remember Selected Tab.’ Turn this on, and Plex will remember the last tab you viewed on every library. I haven’t seen the ‘Recommended’ tab in months - only when I chose it.

I don’t want to remember the tab I was on, the settings per tab I want it to remember. I had this set at one time, every time Plex exited, and I launched it, went back to sub cat, and not what I want.
This is exactly what the ‘Remember selected tab’ setting is for. If you have the ‘Unplayed’ filter set in a Movie or TV library, that should be remembered as well. It’s working that way on my Roku. If it isn’t working in your case, then something is wrong. You might want to gather the logs and post them so someone can take a look.
So if yours is selected, and when Plex auto exists and you start the app again, does it go to the HOME screen, or the last folder you where in? Because if does not go to the home screen then my logs wont help, cause it a prog error.
Plex always loads to the Home screen. Plex doesn’t have an auto-exit feature, so if that’s happening, it’s crashing, and logs could very well be helpful to the programmers to figure out why.
