When using the PLEX player on ROKU, on the left side of the screen is a list of the folders on my PLEX Media Server. When I select a folder it displays the videos in the folder on the right pane of the screen. At the top of the screen it displayes “Recommended” and “Library” with “Recommended” underlined as the current setting. But with “Recommended” only a subset of the content of the folder is displayed. The default has always been “Recommended” but I could change the setting to “Library” where all the content of the folder would be displayed. If I left the folder and later came back later, it would remember “Library” as the setting. But now, if I leave a folder and come back, it always reverts to “Recommended” so not all of the contect of the folder is displayed. This is a big nuisance. Is there a way to have “Library” be the default setting or at least remember it as the previous setting?
The question was in the last sentence:
“Is there a way to have “Library” be the default setting or at least remember it as the previous setting?”
Which is valid.
There is only the option to “Remember selected tab” (which can be set to “Library” or “Recommended”) but has a habit of forgetting the setting occasionally.
Sorry… it appears the original (very empty) post was amended at some point.
The Remember selected tab option should cover this. Keep in mind Plex will store this for each library… so if you switch between Recommended and Library for one of those libraries, Plex will remember the last selection. I’m not aware of an issue where Plex is forgetting the setting.
There’s a feature suggestion asking for an option to remove the Recommended section. Although from what I can see it hasn’t yet seen all that much attention.
This has been a problem/complaint for years so not sure anything is ever going to change with it.
Changing the setting for each library has to be done every time you set up a new client. I just went through this with my dad remotely setting up 2 Roku clients.
