Hello I’m running the latest server on two different hosts
One is a WD my cloud pro out side of the network the other is a hp laptop inside the network
Having issues with both a second generation and third generation echo dot.
Sometimes when accessing the mycloud pro there is a delay/ long response time before playing. I have a duplicate set on a pc laptop in the LAN. When trying to play that server (in the past) would play the file instantly. For the most part now Alexa says uh oh having a problem and contacted plex. If I try the my cloud server it initiated but never plays anything. If I use a android tablet the file plays from either server no problem. Is there a way to fix this? I tried removing the Alexa skill and putting it back but it only worked for 10min
Is this just a general issue That has to be waited for a fix?
Or is there a setting I need to set to fix the issue?
An update:
If the audio file is a FLAC or MP4 the file will not play on Alexa
If the file is an mp3 it will play fine no problem.
These non mp3 files played fine before, and they still play fine on a tablet but at the moment Alexa can not play non mp3 content
I converted the fillies to mp3 but still experience the uh oh when trying on a local server
And delay in the other
It’s really frustrating is the Alexa skill just broken???
I am having the same issue. I am updating all my music library to high res FLAC files for storage after ripping my own personal CDs.
I have the same experience. Alexa will play any album or song that is mp3 but not FLAC. Tested on multiple albums. I thought this was an issue with the Plex skill but it seems its not.
I will NOT be having 2 libraries with both FLAC and MP3s thats way too much space as I have over 3000 CDs and that will take a long time and get hard to control. Why cant this be fixed!!!
I use a WD MyCloud EX2 Ultra for my Plex server which streams my FLAC just fine. But I want to be able to do the same for Alexa as My wife prefers the voice activation stuff and controlling music in the kitchen and Amaon didnt have AutoRip many years ago when I bought most of my CDs and many CDs I DID buy thru Amazon were special ediitions which didnt have the autorip feature (only the basic versions) which defeats the purpose.
