I greatly appreciate that support was eventually added for Extras and the roundabout ways of having them (Season 100, etc.) is no longer required. So thank you for that!
I think cosmetically they could be improved in a number of ways, but for me one of the the biggest things would be the ability to edit the name that is displayed. Simple example would be colons not being able to be used in File Explorer, and so as Plex uses the file name, you cannot have colons in the name.
A better example might be TV Show Extras at the Episode level, which are named the same as the episode with -interview or other tag at the end; I would love to be able to make sure Plex showed the actual name of the Extra instead.
If you could find some time to attempt to make this addition (or inform me of how it can be done if I missed it somewhere!), it would be wonderful!
If named correctly, Plex will show a section of the file name as extra title.
TV Shows <- library folder
Show Name
Season XX
Show Name - sXXeYY - Optional Episode Title.ext
Show Name - sXXeYY - Optional Episode Title - Custom Extra Title-interview.ext
Show Name - sXXeYY.ext
Show Name - sXXeYY - Custom Extra Title-deleted.ext
The base name must be absolutely identical to that of your episode.
That being said… this will still limit what titles you can set. If the title contains a -, Plex will fallback to show the episode name instead.
There’s already an existing suggestion discussing an option to edit extra titles and other metadata from within Plex. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

Of the extras, the episode extras were the only ones I was having trouble with the naming (other than colons, question marks, etc.). Thanks for the info, I will see if I can manage to get that to work for me.
