So, in the old Plex Movie (Legacy) agent, the embedded sort title tag “TITLESORT” in MP4 movies would be picked up automatically and added to Plex without a problem… as for MKV files, I would just use a custom plugin to fill-in that functionality.
I just saw that a new Plex Movie agent is out and wanted to try it… but from what I can see, not only did it lose that built-in functionality for MP4s but it also doesn’t allow the use of 3rd-party plugins, so it can’t pick up that “TITLESORT” tag for neither MP4 nor MKV files.
(Before you ask, both “Use local assets” and “Prefer local metadata” are turned on for the new agent in the library settings).
Is this intended? can this be fixed?
