Suddenly (but as a recurrent regression), subtitles embedded in my carefully iOS-tailored m4v videos have stopped being displayed while playing back the video. They are correctly shown in the pre-play screens, but in the video player in the iOS and ATV apps, they are no longer displayed (e.g. no “Subtitle” tab in the ATV drag-down menu).
Very annoying, please help. Seems to have regressed in the PMS 1.4.x series - not working in PMS version 1.5…

Can you provide server logs (as well as ATV and iOS app logs, if you know how to get them), please?
I think some Plex ninja can then jump in an have a look if it is a bug or a new feature 
Actually, no. This breaks from time to time, so Plex themselves should be able to test this. I have been here for a very long time (a user since 2008) - it has been a recurrent problem and they should be “forced” to do some QC before they release stuff. At least they need themselves to have some samples file so that they can reproduce. My files are FULLY standard/compliant and worked fine until just recently.

But I have seen other threads like yours just go unnoticed without logs.
If you want your problem to be handled, then I see no other choice since they clearly cannot see from the file extension only, which Kind of embedded subtitle style is present in your files, how many of them, if there is an internal error message because the size of your subtitles is too large or whatever.
I don’t say that your files are the problem, I believe that they are not. But frm what I have read from the ATV Team at least, I suspect that no logs means "we can’t help"also. There are other threads with subtitles not playing… they do not see the big picture, but they try to figure out individual “problems”.
I really hope that your subtitle problem can be solved. I think that with logs attached, it gets more priority than without.
