empty trash not working

I have manually deleted some 60 old tv shows, however for the last 3 hours have been pulling my hair out as they do not get deleted from plex. I have restarted the system multiple times, updated to the latest version, cleaned bundles, emptied trash on the home screen as well as in the TV shows section, however they are not getting deleted.

Apart from deleting the section and starting from scratch, what other options are there to clean the library? The episodes are showing as unavailable, but do not get removed.

I am also seeing this behavior.

In my case, I moved the shows outside the root of the library Dir, thinking they would vanish… But nope.

I thought maybe the “clean bundles” would get them… But I can’t find the clean bundles in the new interface.

clean bundles is on your home screen, click on the cog wheel on the left hand side just next to your server name

Is there any resolution to the issue? I’d rather not lose my viewed history

did you do a scan (update libraries) after you deleted the files? empty trash will not work without a scan first

quite a number of times

What version of PMS are you using?

Version 0.9.10.1

Having the same issue running Ver: 0.9.9.14.531-1

this is still not working, version 0.9.11.1. The file shows as unavailable in the library, however it never gets deleted out of the database.

This may not be related and could be a little tricky to explain clearly, but I had a similar issue when I moved my music folders to a new drive.

I left the old folder in my library's folder list, added the new one, ran a refresh and expected Plex to move all the pointers to the new folder.  It did for about 90% of files but not all.  I then deleted the original folder but forgot to remove it from my library folder list.  Much later when I tried deleting some files I found I couldn't get rid of them, no matter what I did - turned out these were still pointing to the folder that no longer existed.  When I found the folder still in my library folder list, I simply deleted it, ran a refresh and presto! everything was fixed.

That may or may not be of assistance, but thought it worth mentioning.

Getting zero replies on this topic sucks. My trash can empties fine on my MacBook. When attempting to empty trash in Plex, it errors out. Yes, Inscan all libraries before attempting. Plex is running fine and I honestly don’t know if this is a real problem other than movies I delete from my library show the trash icon. If I can’t empty the trash in Plex then, the movies will still show up in the library with the trash icon. Anyone got an idea on how to resolve?

I think I managed to fix it. I deleted the TV show folder completely from the plex server and set it up again. After that I pressed the update libraries and let the episodes com back to the server. After the server had updated the episodes I deleted one episode from the folder and pressed again update libraries and finally the episode vanished from plex.

It seems that there was some bug in the server folder.

Now i’ts working perfectly for me.
