I would like to submit a feature request to allow users to easily switch between Plex accounts on Android TV, Apple TV, and other devices, without having to use a Plex Home account. Currently, there is no smooth way to switch between accounts, which is a major inconvenience when multiple users are sharing the same TV and want to access their own library and preferences.
The ability to switch between accounts via a simple interface, without having to log out and log back in each time, would greatly improve the user experience and management of multiple accounts on the same device.
i’am aware that Plex Home exists; however, it does not allow viewing libraries shared with the main account, which is why I am requesting the ability to switch between multiple Plex accounts.
What exactly do you have in mind?
Something like a “history” of accounts previously signed into the device?
I assume the users will still have to authenticate (given they’re not all part of a Plex Home where you can just set a pin)?
basically exactly the same thing as for the plex home, but with real accounts, and possibly the possibility of putting a pin code for this specific case
To be more precise, I have a couple of friends with whom I share my library. Each of them wanted their own account because their language preferences are different, and sometimes they watch the same series but not necessarily at the same time. The problem is that they watch on the same TV and the same Android box. Currently, the only way to switch accounts is to log out and log back in, which is honestly quite annoying.
The solution would have been for them to use Plex Home, but it doesn’t allow access to external libraries shared on the main account. This feature request has been around for 10 years but still hasn’t been implemented, so I’m looking for alternative solutions that could be implemented.
If you shared your libs with another account, and if this account have sub account (plex home), this sub account don’t have access to shared libs!

aahhhhh, there is missing information on the applications… one of the accounts must have the plex pass to invite real plex accounts to its home… so my question is the following: is it possible to simply switch accounts on Android TVs and others if they belong to the same plex home?
If yes, then my request is indeed useless and I understand your confusion.
To be clear, the owner of Plex home needs a Plex Pass to invite regular users. Yes, regular users in Plex home can switch accounts from the user picker. It will not ask for password so make sure all accounts have a pin if you don’t want the wrong account being used.
