I’m sharing libraries with two family members with the same grandkids, neither of whom have Plex Pass. The grandkids frequently spend a day or two with them and both have a play room with Rokus running for the kids. The thought is that it’d be nice to be able to open Plex for the kids in an account just for them. I have no idea how to go about this.
Accessing my family members’ accounts from the browser, they can add a ‘Managed Account’ for the kids, but the managed account doesn’t seem to have access to the libraries I’m sharing with their grandparents. So from the grandparent account, there doesn’t seem to be any way to internally create access like this. This is the solution I hoped, and first thought, would work.
I’ve created a new account specifically for the kids and shared my libraries with it, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to easily access it and the grandparents’ accounts on the same device. You have to completely log out of one account and in to the other.
I think the only way it would work is to add my two family members’ accounts as well as the newly created ‘Kids’ account to my Plex Home because then they’ll be able to access the ‘Kids’ account by switching users. But, they’ll also be able to access my fiance’s, my son’s, as well as my account. I’m not real eager to do that.
So, I’m hoping there is another way, but I have no idea what it could be. Does anyone have any suggestions?
