Greetings, new to plex, it works great for me, but I have one issue. I cannot seem to get ipv6 to work with plex? I can enable it on an already running server, and the web client will continue to run, but I cannot stream any videos. If I restart the server, the server does run, but the web interface and server itself are unavailable, I have to manually edit the settings xml and restart the server to get it to run again. I have full ipv6 connectivity for my whole network, and can ping6/traceroute6 from the jail I have plex running in, any hints?
This is an esxi VM, running freenas, It has 12 cores allocated and 32gb ram.
have you made use of the feature to select a specific interface to listen on ?
There is an issue with that feature when ipv6 is enabled. It is being replaced in 1.13.9 with a feature to select a preferred network interface but not affecting how the tcp ip listen is done
I think I may have been wrong all along. It looks like I can connect to the host, but I can only connect via ipv6 when the enable ipv6 box is checked, ipv4 is unavailable. I can also connect to the web interface via ipv6 without the box checked, but not via https, where ipv4 does allow https. I guess the expected behavior for me is both ipv4 and v6 availability.
Restart the server as i would like to see the start up sequence in the logs
Then test out access via ipv4
Get the logs zip
and also in command line get the output from netstat -tunlp and copy output to text file and include with the logs zip
See https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
And would like to see if you are using the network interface selection feature that came in with 1.13.5 - so please copy out Preferences.xml and send me by private message when uploading logs / netstat here
