I’ve long been puzzled by Plex’s search capabilities. It just doesn’t seem to work properly if you don’t provide exact titles for movies or tv shows. Let me give you one example that basically says it all:
Take the TV show “Hell on Wheels”, being in your library. Do a search for “hell wheels” and nothing will show up. Search for “hell on wheels” and you get a hit.
This happens across the board and there does not seem to be any kind of “fuzzy” search logic nor any logic at all (not even a simple pattern matching). Unless you know exactly what the name of the item is you are searching for, search will not yield any results.
I think this could be improved. I am not going to say this is a bug, but my guess is some would consider it to be one.
