I have over 1000 Channels - ok, “only” about 150 are really needed.
It’s also ok if i have to do the Mapping myself, but there are several huge problems to start:
1st: i find no program guide which contains all the channels i need. - For example I live in an Area where i can get legally a >austrian and a swiss subscription and also german sky. My enigma2 Box decrypts them without any problem - but i cant find >a List with ORF1HD, Sky Cinema HD and SRF1HD included. All Channels there, but listed in different guides
2nd: as SingleServingSociety said: the dropdown is cryptic as hell. And why is ist not in an alphabetical order? And maybe searchable?
But still: My box already has very good EPG data (also because of VTIs EPG share Plugin) so it would be great to be able to use this. It would very likely also fix the problem with the pain in the butt Plex Channel Mapping
Be happy that we have people like andyblac1974 they wrote a plugin for Enigma2 boxes and you can use it with Plex DVR
“Normally” the big advantage in Plex DVR -among others- is the EPG from Gracenote. Today it is not complete but it grows over time. If we miss a channel in a specific provider list we can tell it Plex.
The other way is a XMLTV file, which you have to provide to your Plex DVR server. Use tools like WebGrabPlus for that.

Hi, today i have done a little test with recording function in plex. The plex user has full read/write privileges to all folders.
On some channels, i can setup the recording path and the records works without problems, see screenshot 1. found out, i can setup if the record is a move. is it a season episode, i can’t setup the record path
On most channels, i didn´t can setup the recording path and there i have no access, see screenshot 2.
On screenshot 3, there is a write permission message. But where will plex store the record?

It really, really sounds like wrong permissions on the folder for your movie library. If you’re unsure where items in your library are stored you can edit click “Add folders” and it will show the folders included in the library.

Gracenote doesnt provide Season/episode in my country either and everything is labeled as daily show.
Nevetheless, there are EPG enhancers for enigma2 that supplement over the air EPG to make Dreambox’ EPG much better than what Gracenote can ever hope to do in countries outside of US.
Not to mention that over the air EPG (the one that is loaded in dreambox) is provided by the local providers and gets updated instantly whenever certain program overruns (usual for league cup, formula 1 rainy race etc )

I’ve just bought a VU+ Uno 4K Satellite version and was wondering if plex can see 8 tuners or does it just see 2.
