Haven’t touched anything and I have recordings up to the 13th of this month. It appears to be updating with the schedule update time change (extension). Thanks. Since the server reboot, I have not seen any recordings randomly pop up…not sure what caused that.
My EPG hasn’t updated past Aug 7th since July 21st or something like that (about 10 days). I have Scheduled tasks running for 8 hours each day, and of course it is enabled.
I have manually downloaded the new EPG several times, including right now, and it will not update past the 7th. Any ideas what is going on? The server has been rebooted a few times since then as well. I can’t seem to find a way to get it to refresh, and time is running out before I wont be recording anything…
Not that it matters, but i figured i’d give a final update.
I am 99% sure that I am done with plex. It is unfortunate because I have it installed in many places and I also paid for a lifetime plex pass. However, after the suggestions in this thread, things were working great for a bit, but now I am back to having issues and it seems that I am only made aware of the issues once I login to watch the show only to realize that it didn’t record.
With all that being said…I may keep plex and get rid of the cable card and HD home run box, it could be that my hate for plex is specifically with the DVR/scheduling portion.
I don’t know that other providers are any better, all the providers will probably have this nailed in a couple of years, I think everything is still too new.
The good news is that I didn’t get rid of my cable DVR, so I can still watch the shows there. I really wanted it to work on plex so that I could have a central server with the content and watch it from many devices, back to the basics for me…
Have you had other problems from the last post on August 1 that everything was working to this one today that basically says you are done with Plex?

No I haven’t, but at that time, the shows that I had set to record were not in season (not any new episodes, that is) and I did notice the guide data updating regularly. The thing is, the guide data IS continuing to update regularly, but it missed all the new shows. I checked my settings, all the record settings are right. I see that a future recording is scheduled and in the calendar, but I can’t go back to last week to see if it was scheduled/in the calendar, at that time. I thought about putting in a feature request, but I don’t bother since I know it isn’t a common request.
As stated, it just seems that one thing breaks, one thing is fixed, then it is something else and I only find out about it after it is too late to do anything about it.
Do you have logs covering when a show may have been missed?

I didn’t check any logs, but like I said, first it was one thing then it was something else. If this much tweaking is needed to get things working, then I don’t want to keep supporting the system.
I’ll keep the cable box and DVR. It is more expensive, but it is reliable.
