78710 has about 20 channels without EPG.
Can Plex let me have stubs at least so I can save it to be viewed? I tried to recycle but complained only one lineup allowed.
If Plex or someone could tell me how to create an EPG stub to assign to OTA channel that would be cool. I have a number of wrong channel listings I could assign to a channel. Plex forces me to check the OTA channel then assign a channel listing. If I don’t it won’t allow me to tune to it.
Seems easy to make an EPG channel stub if you are Plex.
There is finger pointing who is supposed to provide the EPG. Same with HdHomerun. At least they show more line ups.
Have you reported the missing channels to Plex? This thread would be a good place to start:
Or you could go straight to creating your own thread, just ensure you give it the Live TV & DVR tag.
Either way, make sure to include as much detail as possible including the ZIP codes affected, the channels missing, their call signs and the expected network, if applicable.
Finally, have you tried some neighboring ZIP codes? I just did a quick test, and it looks like both 78209 and 78220 have 109 listings whereas 78210 only has 102 (for whatever reason). You may find that there are other ZIPs which are even more complete. At the very least you could use 78209 and have 7 additional listings.
Schedules direct and plex reply something to the effect that they need the TV station to supply the information. TV stations don’t reply or refuse to answer email.
I’ll look at trying dual zip codes. Some place should have the lineup you’d think.??
The issue is more of why Plex simply refuses to let me have a channel without lineup. Today I tried no lineup and it removed all of the channels on that frequency.
I would also like to see some type of feature where I could at least select a channel in the settings and mark it in some way that allows it to be listed and viewed in the PLEX app, even if there is no guide. Honestly even if I could not schedule recordings for channels for which no EPG is available, I’d be OK with that if I could simply watch them:
It’s kind of silly that I have about 50 channels that I can tune in, many of which have no EPG that I can find, but cannot select them in PLEX to view live.
Seems easy for Plex to make a generic stub.
