Hopefully the folks at Plex, can get this fixed up, because the current guide data is missing about 1/3 of the channels. It would be helpful if there was a built in way to report missing channels as part of the channel association screen that takes place after the channel scan.

Most of this channels are still missing with the new EPG. I’m wondering when it will be fixed because without being able to assign a channel, there is no way to watch it or record anything.

I just reported the same issue, it’s seems to be affecting all US channels as they’re not pushing US and Canadian EPG at the same time, only localized channels relevant to Canada up the border.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that, as if it’s not possible to receive OTA signal from across the border, no one seems to have thought about that before “forcing” us to switch to Gracenote.

This is the main reason I’ve stayed away from Tablo, because of their EPG issues with non-localized channels. Now Plex is making us go through this? Hopefully this will be fixed soon and we won’t have to request manual additions of all the missing channels we’re seeing right now!

I also can’t believe that you’ve posted your issue close to three weeks ago and haven’t been answered yet!

Such a shame!

In the meantime, if you want to watch a channel, assign it a bogus and unused name from another channel. The EPG data will be incorrect, but you will at least be able to tune to the channel and watch its live streaming.

In the meantime, please refer to Phillip’s response here and report missing channels using the form link on the original announcement.

Salut Jr,

I have found a workaround which has worked for me:

Not sure where you are located, but you can try it out to see how it’s working out for you.

Good luck.

Awesome thanks for sharing. I’ll check that out and see if it fixes the issue

I messed with this for 2 days, and as I read this thread, i decided to pick random postal codes cross the province, and finally found one that allowed me to have guide for ALL the OTA channels available at my location. So my guess is the localization by postal code is not working very well.

So the postal code you used is from within Canada? Interesting, could very well be, as you said, that the provider has a very limited DB available for Canadian postal codes…

Thanks for reporting this back, this will hopefully put devs and the provider on the right track and in the meantime, provide a workaround for others to make their EPG/DVR functional for all available channels.

Cheers!
Dave

try a postal code in the metropolitain area. i guess that would work.

i’m in suburb Montreal, so i used potal code of place alexis nihon H3Z 1X5 and detected all my channels.

I guess I went a little too far with mine, LOL, but it worked and made me happy, that’s all that matters…

It’d be a great idea to add this to the how to and/or announcement, to avoid more frustration from the users facing this issue.
