Episode Autoplay

Hi,

I love the new autoplay feature for tv shows the new players in general are alot better but need some extra work. I was wondering if i could make a suggestion is there a way to add an addition to the auto play feature for at least the xbox client to say go for 3 to 4 episodes then see if your still watching the only reason i ask is i have a habbit of falling asleep infront of the tv and well when i wake up the shows are still playing and i have blown threw a season lol.

I would also love to see an option with in the xbox app to press a button and have a random style playlist generate rather then having to dick around trying and praying to get a plex mix to start.

Cheers

This is already a feature. There is a post play screen that is shown after each episode with a countdown that will play at the end of the countdown. If there has been no user interaction for 2 hours, this countdown will not play and should stop. The only exception is if you are actually playing a playlist. In this case, there is no post-play screen and it won’t stop.

Do you just want to play any random song? If so you can just enter your music library then hit the shuffle button. This will mix up your songs and play them randomly.

hey mate thanks for your reply the post play screen keeps playing i havent seen a cut off yet happen and im talking a 8 to 9 hour period of it left on its own.

to your other response if you wanted to do a plex mix off a song you have to go find the song most often on the album and the plex loads up the entire album into the now playing list. Then you have to start the plex mix off the song while it is playing leaving all the rest of the album in the currently playing i would like the feature to just goto a song and generate a list off that song without having to start the playback and have it load the album into the now playing. I am unsure it this is the case for all clients as i only have the pc or the xbox one.

Thanks for taking the time to reply though man

What versions of the Plex apps are you using? This is definitely not intended behavior.

Ok, I understand. There isn’t a way right now on the XBox One app or in Plex Media Player to do that. We are looking to expand the Plex Mix feature. On your PC, have you tried the newest PlexAmp music player. This has a feature called Artist Radio which is a similar feature but based on Artist and not individual songs.

Hey mate tested the episode playpack again last night started by playing the first episode of lethal weapon season 1 when i woke up it was on episode 12. My versions are plex for xbox one 2.1.2.70 on an xbox one S. Windows server version is Version 1.10.1.4602 here is an attached DXdiag for you https://pastebin.com/KecX56C8 of my pc specs if that may be of any help tracking this down.

Any update movie fan ?

I got some info from the devs. Apparently the web based clients (Plex Web, Smart TVs, and game consoles) do not have the timeout feature implemented yet. This is on the todo list but I do not have a timeframe for when.

Thanks for running that down for me.
