Hi,
I love Plex and would like to program pluging and agent… But I don’t have enough time for the moment. I would like to do a simple thing. Add the episode number automatically in front of the TV show name. I use only the default plugin and agent. If there a simple way to do it automatically? Or a better agent the the default one?
I would like to have : Episode 1 - bla bla bla. Or 01 - bla bla bla
Thanks!
It already does this..
1. Pilot
2. Cause & Effect
(1., 2. = episode)

You’re right, BUT, if you click on one of those episode, you have the episode tittle without the episode number. When I use medialink with my LG Tv, the name of the episode I get is “bla bla bla” not “1. bla bla bla”
In your example, the name of the episode will be “Original Sin” not “Episode 11: Original Sin”. I suppose I could modify the tvdb agent to add the episode number in the name, but I not setup to do this yet.
Actually, if I click that episode the file will play. Your issue is not the metadata agent, the metadata agent is loading all this information. Whats happening is client side how the LG views the server - which is completely out of Plex's hands.
Just look at your Plex Media Manager -
Alphas > Seasons 1 > Episode 1. Pilot
Its all there.

I try to change the name of the episode manually in the metadata and that works. On my TV I see “Episode 1 - bla bla bla”. Can I change the Tvdb agent so it name the episode with the episode number automatically? I could do it one by one manually…
You can try, it will be in the contents of tvdb.bundle - other than that I really cant give anymore advice on how to accomplish this,
If you successfully make it work you will want to make copies of that bundle because everytime plex media server updates it will overwrite any changes you have made to that plugin because its part of the base package.
Good Luck.
