I need a little help, I will try to go into as much detail as possible.
A friend gave me the entire series of Garfield and Friends and the episodes are 1 episode at a time but plex and filebot is trying to label them as each episode as 3 episodes. To label them correctly based on Plex and filebot each file is S01e01-e03, S01e04-e06, and so on for the entire series.
Being labeled right I import them into plex and plex seperates them in their listings so when i play them from beginning to end for the kids the entire episode repeats 3 times before moving on to play the next episode 3 times.
How do I get the episodes to be listed the way its labeled so each episode plays once and moves one?
Ok, so in this example the way the show was aired is Garfield, friends and another Garfield and that was the original episode. The way plex and filebot is labeling them is episode one is the first garfield segment, episode 2 is the “friends” segment, and the 3rd episode is the last garfield segment.
Which in reality all 3 segments is part of the 1st episode. What plex is doing is saying the same episode file is 3 episodes so in plex it plays the entire show as episode 1, then 2 then 3. Then starts with the second show as 4 replays as 5 and replays as 6… and so on

When it comes to episode structures and sequences… TheTVDb.com is THE single source of truth for Plex. There’s some shows where they’re making this quite complicated. I take it, Garfield & Friends is one of those shows.
In the particular case of Garfield & Friends it appears the Airing Order considers each clip/story a single episode (example for Season 1: 72 episodes).
It seems they try to address this somehow with the DVD Order where the clips are actually grouped (3 clips/stories = 1 episode; Season 1 has only 39 different episodes). That being said – that information is hardly usable by Plex as they still have 72 different episodes that “share” the 39 “grouped episodes”

S01E02 = Wanted: Wade
S01E03 = Garfield Goes Hawaiian
DVD Order
S01e01 = Peace & Quiet, Wanted: Wade and Garfield Goes Hawaiian (=3 independent episodes with the same episode identifier)
Long story short…
Not much you can do with TheTVDb delivering that mess
However… you can manually match the show using The Movie Database as your agent.
They have the show’s episodes grouped as well but not as 3 episodes with the same id.
S01E01 = Peace & Quiet / Wanted: Wade / Garfield Goes Hawaiian (= 1 episode with the 3 names combined in one)
