Multiple episodes in one file

Is there a way to fix the library so that when a two episodes are in the same file?

For example Stargate SG-1 the first episode The Children of the Gods and is actually double episode(s) (E1 & E2) and Plex thinks it’s E1 only then the third episode is labeled as E2 The Children of the Gods as well, but is actually the next episode, The Enemy Within.

Also is there a way to make Plex use the file title for the correct episode title?
Plex constantly has the wrong title from what the actual file is.

Thanks.

Figured out the first question. You need to include the episode numbers in the files name like this: xxx- S01E01-02 - xxx

Plex does not look at the file name for the episode title. It ignores everything after the season/episode number.

Plex uses episode ordering from TMDB (aired) or TheTVDB (aired, dvd, absolute). You will need to arrange the episodes according to one of those listings.

Plex defaults to TMDB.

You can change the library default:

You can change the ordering on a per show basis as well:

  • Edit the TV show (pencil icon)
  • Choose Advanced
  • Choose desired Episode Ordering
