Episode S03E04 of Love, Death & Robots missing from Plex

Go here → Love, Death & Robots · Volume 3 - Watch Full Episodes Online - Plex and you will see that S03E04 is missing.

Now before someone goes and says, well this just aired please wait 24/48 hours for the plex metadata servers to catchup do consider the following …

  • All other episodes from s03 exist, only e04 is missing.
  • On TMDB the record for this episode was created on may 4th along with all the other episodes. See here for details.
  • Episode ordering was fixed on tmdb so could have effected how plex picks up the episodes and is now missing.

I suspect there could be a problem in the plex back-end regarding this so if someone from plex could check that would be great.

BTW… as its missing from watch.plex.tv it comes into a local plex server as an unmatched episode when checking the advanced filter.

Mine’s worse, it split Bad Traveling into two eps, even though its one (correctly named) file. The season appears correct in Sonarr.

Similar issue except it appears where ever Plex is pulling the information from, it is incomplete and inaccurate. It is not recognizing Episode 2 as Bad Traveling and it is missing Kill Team Kill (Episode 5 as shown in TheTVDB.com screenshot).

Any assistance with this would be most appreciated.

I think I found a way to fix(?) this issue.

  1. Go to “manage libraries” and change your agent to “TVDB”.

  2. Refresh metadata for Love, Death & Robots, might take longer than usual.

  3. Click on the “Upgrade Library” notification and perform the upgrade, but leave the “Refresh metadata” unchecked so it doesn’t ruin the order for this show again.

  4. Disaster averted.

Also just had to vent, I’m sorry.
I hate how this crappy new agent that pulls its metadata from god-knows-where is forced down our throats. What’s wrong with users being able to choose and knowing EXACTLY where their data is taken from? Why do we need the PLEXᵀᴹ agent coming in to do a worse job than TVDB and others did? Every change feels like a downgrade, it’s like Plex decided we’re having too much fun at one point.

Why do you think? Data aggregation and collection. Plex ain’t making money selling Plex Passes and mobile apps.

And thanks, changing that library setting worked. Of course the next scheduled automated task of metadata refresh will ruin it again unless you disable that completely (for all libraries) in your PMS settings.

So the solution is Plex should just fix their end.

Once you set episode order it should say with that choice.

Maybe, if you don’t upgrade the library again. But if you do and a scheduled metadata scan runs I think its going to mess up the show again. My test this morning both ways showed that to be true.

Again, we users shouldn’t have to be figuring this out. Plex just needs to fix it in their agent. Simple enough its not even a complicated show.

The plex agent/scanner does work. I default my settings to the TVDB in the library settings so I dont have to deal with the tmdb issues.

I was referring to a previous post suggetting to re-upgrade the library yet leave the metadata upgrade unchecked. I believe we’re talking about different things.

With a proper naming schema Ive seen very little issues after upgrading.

I really hate when folks hijack a thread. Renaming, episode ordering, merits of new vrs old scanner/agent etc… will have no effect on this specific issue. Its missing from watch.plex.tv, simple as. Once that gets sorted it’ll flow into our plex servers as normal.

Steps away to enjoy my sunday afternoon

… Or you can sort it immediately yourself by using the working agents.

So I just decided to test this

Other than having E02 and E03 the same (which I think will get fixed as tvdb data migrates to Plex) its working just fine.

That list is MUCH worse. Episodes 2,3,4 & 5 have problems based on that screen shot.

Its pulling meta for all of the episodes and that will end up matching what tvdb has Love, Death & Robots - Aired Order - Season 3 - TheTVDB.com

From a local plex server perspective this is now resolved with all episodes coming into plex correctly matching the Netflix running order. I’m using new agent with tmdb episode ordering.

S03E04 is still missing from watch.plex.tv but I’m sure it’ll update at some point.

Going to mark this as solved.

Love, Death and Robots episode layout is all screwy on Netflex so not surprise that Plex struggles.

Netflex lists them back to front.
