I’m getting strange metadata results for Love Death & Robots, S03. No matter how many times I Plex Dance the season, or refresh metadata for the episodes themselves, or the entire show. About half of the episodes are showing improper posters for the file content and improper titles. Both TVDB and TMDB have the correct titles and episodes in order. Watch.plex.tv data is slightly incorrect, but not in the same ways as I am seeing.
I thought I had Plex figured out well, but I can’t get the correct information to pull down for this show.
At the moment, I cannot provide logs for when I plex dance (DVR recordings are in progress). I will attempt a reboot of the server sometime when my DVR recordings complete, and if it has not resolved itself by then I will also plex dance the files and provide logs around it. But for now, anyone have any other ideas, or know why this is happening?
Episode 01 - Three Robots: Correct Title and poster. Episode 02 - Bad Travelling: Title not retrieved, but the poster is an image from the episode. Episode 03 - The Very Pulse of the Machine: Somehow has poster and title from episode 2. Episode 04 - Night of the Mini Dead: Correct Title, but poster is from Episode 5. Episode 05 - Kill Team Kill: Incorrect poster and title, seems to have episode 3’s title and poster
Episode 06-09: Correct Title and poster.
If this show is anything like the first season, the episode numbering was not fixed. It randomly sorted your episodes differently than anyone else. You’d think people contributing to TMDB etc would realize this and not fight to have THEIR numbering be the correct one.
Last I checked the ordering was correct on tmdb as per the netflix order. It also matched watch.plex.tv but this issue is that episode 4 is missing. That was the thread I created yesterday as I suspect the plex backend cache needs a force fix/update on their end.
Yeah, I see the same thing you had in your post, with the plex site showing a missing episode. I don’t think that should skew the metadata for all other episodes as well, but who knows how Plex’s metadata cache works.
I’m more amused at the infighting over the episode counts on TMDB.
*shrug*
I can wait for things to get fixed. It doesn’t effect me much when the titles and pics are wrong, but it just bugs me when metadata is incorrect.
Looks like inexperienced amateurs on tmdb creating the episodes weeks ago before the running order was announced. Then was fixed up by folks over at tmdb who know what they are doing.
Typically this stuff usually sorts itself out in plex after a few days but I’m not sure this time based on previous experiences which is why I created the other thread.
It was a kind of controversy at the time. One of the episodes had a brief bit of lesbian kissing. People at the time freaked out when that episode was first, and they speculated that Netflix was using our viewing habits to determine our sexuality and changed it around. Seems it was just random chance, I hear.
