Episodes being put together what are different

I am creating a doctor who season playlist on my pc.

As you can see I have figured out how to do seasons on there. My problem is some files are merging together and I have no idea how to get them to show in the correct order.

The first one on there is original pilot. Now that originally showed correctly but when I added new files to the drive in a separate folder it showing that as the original pilot and not where it should be.
I have added the loose cannon recons to the collection and there are some intro and other extra stuff.

From this screenshot u can see the episodes have different names but still merging incorrectly. Any ideas how I can get these showing properly on Plex for streaming

You need a TV Show Library Folder - to put all your TV Shows in - can’t use the root of D:\

Then - if you want Plex to behave as expected - follow these instructions:

To put it simply - you’re not even close:

D:/A TV Show Library Folder/ <--- Library 'Add Folders' aimed here - ONLY

Video File Naming

With LMA in priority, Embedded Titles within MP4/M4V files are preferred - even over a perfect file name. Local Media Assets should - AT ALL TIMES - remain enabled (unless specifically instructed to turn it off). Local Media Assets should be ‘Demoted’, to the bottom of the stack of active agents under ALL tabs in Shows and Movies, but should NOT be disabled. What about those intros. They are the ones I am having issues with. They are not proper episodes just the original actors introducing the missing recon episodes. Extras if u like. So like galaxy four say it was S03E01 and the intro, would I have to do that as S03E00?

Also I won’t be using the root of D when it setup. I was using that as a temporary place to try and get it working before I move it to it’s home on the E:/doctor who folders.

Your options are quite simple.

You can name and structure like TVDB - as I have shown.

Or you can Fix Match/Search Options/Agent/Personal Media
then hand edit every single item.

Plex won’t work like you want it.
It’s a TV Show and MUST follow TV Show guidelines or you create the New TV Show you want - one episode at a time - by hand.

Thanks I shall give it all ago. New to Plex so thought it would be as simple as naming them in order but obviously not.

TV Shows have to adhere to naming and structuring guidelines - 'cause they have to match against TVDB’s database… unless you want to hand edit each one (Personal Media).

Dr. Who - S01E01.mp4
Dr. Who - S01E01 - An Unearthly Child.mp4
Dr. Who - S01E01 - An Unearthly Child [Four Score and Seven Years Ago...blablabla].mp4

^all those are ‘Compliant’ File names and should all go in a
Season 01
folder
[everything in Brackets is ignored - so you can put all the crap in here]

I would think you would first name and structure to get your matches - then make a playlist - or just copy select episodes into a ‘Fake Dr. Who Show’ with Personal Media as your Agent - so Plex won’t complain - and make that fake show Your Special Show in whatever way you choose.
