Plex not displaying all shows in folder

Server Version#:4.22.2
Player Version#: XBOX, iPad, PC

I have a folder for Anime/Cartoons and in one folder it is seperated into 3 seasons. Only the first episode of the first season shows up.

Folders structure is as follows /data/Videos/Anime

These new episodes are the only media not showing up.

Could you share the detailed naming / organization of your episodes? (and which folder in that structure is linked to the Plex library)

Plex is pretty strict when it comes to naming tv shows in accordance with their naming schema. If you have e.g. additional folders in the structure, Plex might not see the files at all or get them all mixed up – this could result in all episodes being merged into a single record in your library).

Default structure should look like this:

TV Shows <- the folder linked to your library
  Show Name
    Season XX
Show Name - sXXeYY - optional episode title.ext
Show Name - sXXeYY.ext <- episode title is not required / will be ignored anyway
      ...

Where XX is the season, YY is the episode number and ext is the file extension. Files should be named in accordance with TheTVDb.com – however that’s mostly only relevant once you have the show recognized by Plex in the first place

Thanks tom80h

That fixed it. These were all ripped from a bluray. the files were pulled and named by just the title of the episode with no sXXeXX. Once i added those they are now showing up. Took a while for 3 seasons and 112 episodes.

There’s apps that can help with that… e.g. FileBot – in case you have another major renaming activity ahead of you
