I’m having a very strange behavior with some of my recently added media. I have a number of shows that have episodes recently added, where the new episodes show up on the show/season’s unwatched count, but when I drill down to the season, it appears to be empty or doesn’t show the new episodes.
Thanks for your suggestion. One thing I will note is that these are named per Plex’s own DVR. So, if the file names do not jibe with Plex’s desired format, that’s a serious issue with the DVR functionality.
At any rate, I will step through your suggestions and report back.
One interesting observation already–Plex’s DVR naming does not appear to match TVDB. For example, Plex recorded Dateline “The Knock at the Door,” on 7/7. It named that file S25E40, but TVDB lists it as S25E39.
Another example–Plex recorded 30 for 30 last night. It named the episode S03E19, but it’s really S03E25. Very strange because it gets the episode title right, but not the episode number.
Does anyone know if the Plex DVR uses a different database? I know it gets EPG data from Gracenote, so perhaps Gracenote =/= TVDB.
I’m having this same issue. I’ve tried everything suggested by trumpy81. I can play any file/video except those I’ve downloaded today (sonarr, radarr, and torrent). I verified that the files work on my PC. Shows show up in “recently added” and increase the unplayed count of the show, but they aren’t present when I go to the show, and I can’t play them.
edit to add: When I use Plex search, I get no results for any of my shows, movies, actors, etc
