I started experiencing a “bug” nearly a year ago. If I add a TV show the episodes won’t show up in search for an extended time usually weeks. I’ve done the plex dance, Optimized database, refreshed metadata, analyzed, etc. They just won’t show up in search results until weeks later. What’s going on? I used to be able to search for episodes as soon as a show was added. To be clear the show, when added, properly fetches it’s metadata. I can click into the show and watch any episode with the correct metadata. I just can’t search for an episode. I also can’t do an Advanced Filter search within the library for the unsearchable episodes. This happens with all new show additions not just some of them.
so you can still search for old episodes?
Yes, old shows and epsidoes are all searchable. Newly added episodes/shows aren’t but after a while they will show up in search it just takes weeks. Again, they’re fully matched in plex and I can play them by directly navigating to them. They just won’t be found in search.
is there a particular client this is happening on or all of them?
