I still got my Intel i7 4790k… I’m considering selling it for “Napples” (or AMD EPYC) but I was reading it is very different to Intel Xeon. But I don’t know how it is different to Xeon and how/if it would benefit in streaming applications such as Plex?
I also wonder if you would consider the upcoming Epyc 7281 with ECC RAM would be a huge step up to my current i7 4790k with a basic consumer Gigabyte mATX mobo and 16 GB AMD “performance series” 1866 DDR3 RAM. Would I benefit a lot with en terms of stability with that CPU/RAM comparing to my current, and would this “error correction” with ECC RAM make an actual difference in practice if I stream HD and 4k to multiple users and units locally and worldwide?
