Error 1001 - Missing Audio and Video codec information on new files

Player Version#: Version 4.87.2 (or the client on any streaming device)

Hello all,

I cannot play any movies added in the last few days.

I have tried the following with no success. :

  1. Moved a movie file out of the library, rescanned the library then moved the movie back.
  2. Removed the library where the problem previously only affected one file.
  3. Recreated the library with a different folder and library name.
  4. After that, I couldn’t play any files in that library.
  5. Reset all file permissions and took ownership in the APPDATA directory as well as the main library affected.
  6. Permissions and ownership were already correct but I did this for troubleshooting purposes.
  7. Moved an affected movie file to a library where the files were still playable.
  8. I didn’t think this would work and of course it did not.
  9. Cleaned up the database according to instructions I found on the web.
  10. I made a backup of the DB in case I destroyed it.
  11. Uninstalled and downgraded to 1.29.0.6219
  12. Reinstalled 1.30.0.6359.

I have verified the following:

  • All drive letters agree with the Library configuration.
  • In the properties security tab, I am listed as one of the owners and have all permissions.
  • All movies are scanned, and with a few exceptions, their posters are displayed as well as the movie information.
  • Notably, there is NO media information. That is, resolution or audio codec is missing.

I have found no clues in the forum as to why the media information is not being found. Meanwhile, I am using my Infuse client to play files from the Library or any new files.

I hope you can help me. Logs are attached. The file I am using as a test is “7 Faces of Dr Lao”.
