Error Code -268434672 (disaster)

Plex for PS4: 4.7.1

I have seen other threads of people reporting this problem and nothing seems to be being done with it. (I have the logs if a staff member wants them)
This Error Code -268434672 (disaster) seems to be occurring when attempting to play avi with mp3 files. I’ve re-encoded the files to MPEG4/AAC so it should be able to play now, no clue what the problem could be then, but the disaster error codes have been showing more frequently.

Ok, so I’ve also tested the video files on other platforms, and the same error occurs, so it seems the problem is the Plex server is having a problem running these files for some reason and isn’t the platform it’s playing on.

Here is a mediainfo export of the file that’s trying to be played.

the problem is not fixed, nobody is saying what the problem is and why it occurs.

Yea I know its not fixed, and yea same, theres been no support for it either.

I get the same error message when trying to play H.264 Movies on PS4 across the network from my media server. Would be awesome if we could get some support.

I’m having the same issue, was trying to play the new Code Geass movie and got this error. Support doesn’t seem to care at all.

Still nothing with this? Getting this error (and other similar “disaster” errors) on multiple videos/shows. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem in my PS4 Pro. I’m losting my patience lol, my salvation is being the smartv app (is working without problems) but anyway, the design is very ugly and i can’t use my headphones to have a better experience.

So, up to this be solve as quickly as possible

I have been having this error a lot more lately. It does not seem to mater what type of format it is in. I have tried all my file types and transcoded to what Plex recommends and it still happens. I have also noticed that wile direct streaming it will suddenly switch to transcode mode and will either send this error or say there was an error with the transcoder and to try again. Anyone have any idea what, and why this is happening?

Same here, only on ps4, my iphone handles it fine.

I’m still receiving this error. Only occurs on my Plex pc server. My Plex nas server plays the exact same files without problem.

I’m also having this problem. My iPhone, tablet and laptop can all play these files with no problem but the PS4 gives me the disaster error. I really wanted to be able to watch things on my TV and PS4 is my only device that runs Plex …

I had this occur and I was able to fix this by going to task manager on my computer and closing all of the plex related tasks and going back to my PS4 and hitting play. There were multiple instances of python script running that was eating 100% of my CPU.
