I need help tracking down a problem with a specific movie. The Matrix Revolutions. On the PS4 app this specific file stops playing at 55:36. The app finally kicks back saying the file failed to play.
This is repeatable every time I play this movie. I’ve already re-encoded from the original DVD 3 separate times using AnyDVDHD and Handbrake using MV4 container, h.264 4.1 & 4.0 settings, and ac3 audio passthrough. Here’s the kicker, this movie plays perfectly on everything else. The DVD plays fine. Plex plays it fine locally, to laptop over wifi, to an iphone & ipad, and VLC Player from the local server, all without a glitch.
The PS4, stops dead at 55:36 every time and only with this movie, all 3 separate files that I tried to encode. You’d think if it were a glitch in the file it would present elsewhere but it’s only on the PS4 and only this movie and it doesn’t matter which file I use.
I ran defrag and chkdsk on my hdd to make sure there wasn’t an error there, all came back clear. I even tried playing the file from another drive (from my ssd boot drive) same issue same place all 3 separately encoded files. I’ve updated the server and the ps4 app, uninstalled, reinstalled, refreshed the database on the ps4, checked and reset settings.
I’m really at wits end with this dang movie. I’ve been encoding my personal DVD and Blu Ray collection and I’m 100+ encodes without a glitch until now. And it’s a ■■■■■■■ of a hiccup. The only think I haven’t done is try a different copy of the DVD and that’s only because I don’t have one handy.
