Error code: s6007 (DRM)

Server Version#: 1.18.6.2368
Player Version#: Plex Web 4.24.2

For the last few versions every time I try to stream a Plex Movie or TV episode it starts playing an ad then shows an error (The ad is still playing when the error dialog shows but the movie/tv episode wont start after the ad is finished and clicking the error closes the playing item and drops me back to the dashboard)

The latest error from the current version of plex is Error code: s6007 (DRM)

I’m playing this locally on the same pc as the server
Running on Linux Mint 19.2

I’m using Plex on the chrome browser Version 71.0.3578.80

All my own content works fine with no issues, just anything streamed from Plex fails, I’m not streaming to anything just playing directly from the server on the server via a browser

I have successfully streamed items from Plex TV and Movie at least 2-3 versions back with no problems

I’m sorry,

Enable DEBUG logging (you’ve turned it off. It doesn’t use or save space either way)
Keep VERBOSE off. (too much data, I lose info)

Now please recreate as above and include. It looks like a bad input file or that the file has changed (replaced with a different version without running Analyze) given what little data is present.

Where is directory `/tmp/Plex.Transcode’ ?
Is it a local directory or a network share?

This is one of two things:

Network share for temp storage (which doesn’t work)
-or-
Mint being quirky and failing.

Its on the main hard drive its not a network share
The owner is plex user, it has access to create and delete files

I cant see any files in it just folders

/tmp/Plex.Transcode/Transcode/Sessions

9% use for inodes
65.7 gb free on the ssd with OS and /tmp

I’ve found a movie that needed to be transcoded from Avi -> mp4 to stream to chrome browser from my local files and it works perfectly, so the issue seems confined to watching streaming plex content only

It has created many files in the transcoding folder in
/tmp/Plex.Transcode/Transcode/Sessions/plex-transcode-5kt9reookl833fwn7hwy38vi-c42cf0dd-59c0-4b33-83d4-7cd8a4372a80

as soon as i stopped the movie it deleted the folder and all files in the plex-transcode-5kt9reookl833fwn7hwy38vi-c42cf0dd-59c0-4b33-83d4-7cd8a4372a80 directory

If the error code mentions DRM, could it be actually related to that? i.e. missing (or disabled) DRM support in Chrome

Allow sites to play protected content is enabled in chrome settings

I’ve just tested in firefox and it worked there so it seems theres some incompatibility with chrome/drm/linux

I created a VM with vmware workstation and installed a fresh copy of mint and plex server (On a windows host system) yesterday the testing was inconclusive though it failed from a drm error again so at least it is reproducible but it had a different error code and drm was enabled again in the browser

I believe that was with firefox though i can check again tomorrow night
