Error Diagnostic - Madrid

I was using my Smart TV Hisense ans it was working fine but since yesterday I got the error “Diagnostic - Madrid” when I try to link my account. I did EVERYTHING. Factory Reset. Uninstall the app. Restarted the internet. Delete the device history. Everything that you can imagine. HELP!!!

Same error here, started a 2 days ago roughly. Hisense TV (which has worked for months) no longer connects to plex.tv with same Madrid diagnostic error
Second Panasonic TV also no longer connects but unsure if it is the same issue since it has different software and doesn’t even get as far as asking for the 4 characters to enter into plex.tv/link

Our Hisense is like 6 months old and the “whats supported” article doesn’t give any details or even mention Hisense. Are Hisense supported at all now?

Some updated information for people still struggling with this.

It appears as if HiSense “app” is actually really just a wrapper around a browser link to the following page:

(Not confirmed entirely, but…) it looks the exact same as what I see, works the same, same version number, same interface etc

The change that seems to have been made on the 30th Sep 2020 was Plex disabled TLS 1.0 protocol on their servers, which is slowly being ditched all over the place due to how insecure it is.

Unfortunately HiSense does not seem to have updated their OS to the latest protocols (TLS 1.2 or SSL 3.0) on some TV’s, and without that change, I don’t think Plex will ever work on them again.

(quick check,. no firmware update for our HiSense. oh well)

I’ve got the same issue. If I use the browser on my Hisense and go to the URL above it fails. If I change it to https it processes the code and comes up with my home profiles but can’t connect for some reason.

If I use the browser and go to Plex.tv it actually works and plays video. But scrolling around with a remote pointer sucks.

so i may have found a solution.

what i did was i went to link my account to my tv, of course the error code came up.

but what i did was i waited for the screensaver to come up (the plex logo in the centre of the screen) then i just pressed any buttton, and it let me into my account through the app.

i don’t know if this is just a fluke, but it had worked for me a couple of times :slight_smile:

you do have to do it every time you open the app though.
