That is typical of the DLNA server leaking memory.
DLNA is off by default
I nave never seen anything leak as badly as being described here.

Is there anything I can do about it?
DLNA is off.
When I install PMS on my desktop and use the same music-database on the NAS could this be a test to see where the problem comes from?
DO you have any 3rd party add ons or QNAP 3rd party apps running that may play into this issue?
I have no 3rd party add ons and had only Container Station running, but I stopped that app, so there are no extra apps running …
If you can make a list of the files, I can create a test library here of them.
It would be something that’s generated on the ssh command line.
Commands would be something like:
cd /share/music
find . -type f > /share/Public/MusicList.txt
Then retrieve that file. I’ll send you a PM so you can share with me.
I can then emulate your music library verbatim and see what PMS is doing with it.
Would this be possible?
I’ll try this tomorrow afternoon.
I can’t establish a SSH connection. I’ll have to look this up.
admin + pasword required and I can’t give it in via Putty …
Musiclist.txt is ready!
@distero. the zips are empty. the uploader must have grabbed them.
I’ve removed the posts to avoid confusion.
