Connection to PLEX server lost

I’m newbie, french and an old man, so apologize for my english.
Since 5 june, I encountered problems on my PLEX installed on a QNAP NAS TS-453D.
All worked fine on Philips Google TV, Fire TV stick, … and now PMS seems unreacheable.
I tried to update from 1.30… to 1.41…, rename Preferences.xml, uninstall/reinstall PMS, delete all authorized entries and server entry too, use the ./claimpms.sh.


But impossible to reclaim the server.
Strangely I have now something strange when I try to download PMS.

Your server is having difficulty communicating with plex.tv servers, which is necessary to claim the server.

Try configuring the QNAP to use a public DNS server such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 9.9.9.9 (Quad9) or 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 (Google).

You may also need to change the DNS settings on your PC. You should be able to download PMS and generate a claim code at https://account.plex.tv/en/claim.

Plex’s status page does not show any outages: https://status.plex.tv/. However, there could still be a local or regional problem causing difficulty reaching Plex hosts.

On QNAP NAS, when you uninstall PMS it also removes the Plex Data Folder. This will remove any existing library definitions, server settings, etc.

Just be aware of it for future updates, etc., so you do not have to completely re-create your server.

I changed DNS to cloudflare for both NAS and PC.
It’s Ok now for downloading QNAP version again.


I use User Credential Utility, but got :
ERROR: Could not get credentials from plex.tv (Error: 60)

For information NAS firmware is QTS 5.2.5.3145 and I updated last week

Something is getting in the way. Trying to figure out what.

Edit: One other thing to check is the SSL certificate on the QNAP. See if it needs updating.

No proxy but double nat because I use an ASUS router behind BOX provider.
How can I check SSL certificate on QNAP ?
Seems that troubleshooting starts with NAS firmware upgrade.
I don’t use PLEX every day

See if the NAS has a certificate, possibly from Let’s Encrypt. If so, see if it can be renewed.

Your system looks OK (DNS works, certificate is valid). This may be something specific to QNAP and the latest firmware update.

Just installed v.1.41.8.9834-071366d65 (for QNAP)
But same issues :frowning:

Possible plex.tv problem. Changing PMS versions won’t help. It affects more than PMS on QNAP. Wait for additional info. Nothing you can do right now.

I saw a report where QTS was unable to sync
(reason not stated)

Sync clock Ok.
But no progress on issue.
