Getting this error when trying to sync to my mobile devices. I can see other forum posts on this but no solutions.
Is there a number to call to get help with the setup?
Well… are you trying to sync content from a server you of your own or that of a friend?
If it’s not your own content, the server owner need to specifically grant you permission to sync. Plex itself has nothing to do with the content of that server, so no central number to call.
@bwolinski exactly what @tom80H said. If it’s not your own content, you wont be able to sync until the server owner would allow you:
I’m having the exact same problem. And I’m trying to sync from my online library to my mobile device, so I am the manager. Yet it still gives me that notice, and I don’t even know where to change it at. It will let me go to sync, then gives me the above message and then goes to 50% - waiting and says “waiting for server”
Had the same error. What fixed it for me was to select an episode to download directly from the server and selecting to which device to download the ep. After that, it seemed to authorise the device to enable syncing and i was able to select other eps to download directly from my device.
Yeah this literally does not exist anywhere, not sure how you made the screenshot, must be photoshopped. There is no “restrictions” section.
It’s in the share settings for the individual users accounts that you share with. The same place you choose which libraries to share with a user. Go go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/users/friends on one of the users blocks click the edit button (pencil icon)
If you share with a child you can limit it to only PG movies for example. More info here https://support.plex.tv/articles/204232573-restricting-the-shares/
I am not a user I share with I am the managing admin owner of the server. I want to sync to my phone from my own Plex server that I am logged into as myself, the same admin user I’m logged into as on my phone.
