Error message. Plex Media Server is no longer available

Hi, I am having a curious issue.
I have just bought an Android Box for my parents and was trying to run Plex. Asked them to play some episodes of a TV show and when they did, a pop up message appeared.
The message said (I am translating from Italian so it may be slightly different on the Eng version):
Error
the file can’t be reproduced because Plex Media Server is no longer available.

then it only gives me two options:

  • Retry which will restart the Plex App
  • Back which will take me back to the list of episodes.

Now, the weirdest thing is that if I do not pick any of the options and leave the error message there, the epsiode will actually start playing in the background, in full.

Any ideas?

  • You mentioned that you are viewing this content from an Android box, what are the specifications of the device you are using to store the media, or am I simply misunderstanding?
  • Is your connection listed as “Indirect” or “Insecure”?

Those are the specifications of the Android Box

the message doesn’t say neither indirect or insicure. It only says that the server is not available.

I have uninstalled the plex media server and all the other programs on my desktop. I will try again as soon as the server loads all the files again
