Error Message: This server is unclaimed and not secure

Server Version#: Version 1.15.3.835
Player Version#: 6.2.7.5442-b6554798a-Plex

So mid-last week, I noticed that all of my videos on Plex became “unavailable”. I signed into my Plex Media Server running on my Synology 716+II and saw that it was still running. I stopped service and restarted it. No luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled PMS and the videos came back but a couple of the new ones I had recently added had no metadata. I signed into the PMS through my 716 and saw " An unclaimed media server has been found on your network. [Claim it now]" message at the top of the screen. I tried claiming the server as instructed but only got the spinning wheel of death for my pointer and finally a “there was a problem signing into Plex” error message. Also noticed that large number of videos get stuck buffering at 13%. I had to change Direct Play to Force and disable Allow Direct Stream for my larger sized videos to play.

No hardware changes have been made in the past six months, been running Plex for a couple years with no issues. There are no other instances of PMS on any NAS or computers on my network. No VPN. Also, remote play is disabled until the server is claimed (which I cannot accomplish).

Any ideas?

Does this apply to PMS that is installed on a Synology NAS? I need to delete the registry keys that are corrupted according to the results of ClaimIt.

Ran script directly on NAS with the following result:

Would you please do the following:

  1. Control Panel - Shared Folders - Edit the Plex share - Permissions tab - Add your username to the R/W list
  2. open the Plex share in FileStation,
  3. Navigate into Library / App Support / Plex Media server
  4. Right-click Logs
  5. Compress to Logs.zip
  6. Download the resultant ZIP file and attach here.

Some how the DNS was auto-populating with the incorrect setting. I was able to claim the server after setting to the proper DNS.

Thanks for the help!
