HELP! Plex Server Not Found/This server is unclaimed and not secure

Problem just started today where the Plex server is not found across multiple devices (Roku, Android, Desktop). Whenever I go to the site on my desktop I get the “Get Your Plex Media Server” in the middle of the page and on the right it just says “looking for servers” and constantly spinning.

Just update the app on MyCloud Mirror thinking this might fix it but it has not. Updated to version 11134803.

Rebooted the NAS to no avail.

Reinstalled the app on the NAS to no avail.

SSH’d into the NAS and deleted the Preferences.xml file. Restarted the app on the NAS and it now works.

However, I am now getting the “This server is unclaimed and not secure” message and the process to claim the server does not work.

I had the same issue, just restarted the PLEX service on the server and all is good.

Bump

Plex is a great product when it works. But when it doesn’t good luck getting support I guess.

If you cannot claim the server, do not worry about the pop-up. Just go to Settings \ Server \ General and sign in using your Plex account. That’s the basics of claiming a server.

I signed out, signed back in, went to Settings | Server | General and clicked “Claim Server” and it spins and then back to “Claim Server.”

I just posted about this in a new thread… It seems to me like there is a bug in this new Plex release. I am having this same issue.

I reinstalled Plex going back on release and I still have this problem.

Q: am I going to have problems when I active Plex on my daughter’s Roku?

Can you manually grab your PMS logs and upload them here?

Yes. If you can’t claim your server, the clients will have trouble seeing it too.

Thanks for the log. It shows that your PMS is having difficulties communicating back to plex.tv. The error is that the host name can’t be resolved, which typically points to a DNS issue with your network. Can you check what DNS your are using and try using a different one to see if that works.

Doh! I feel stupid. But at the same time relieved it’s an easy fix. I just changed ISPs recently and didn’t update the DNS on the NAS.

Problem solved. Thank you.

Help! My Plex runs on Synology current rev access from PC - I mistakenly unclaimed a server (from the same PC) and I am no longer able to claim that server. I have tried every iteration of the various solutions (log off change pw delete all active servers and relog change DNS ) I believe my only option is login to DSM and delete the server tokens. Note while I changed cable modems remote log in/claim server was intact. I’ve read once you unclaim a server from a PC you can’t reclaim it - and that’s why I think I need to delete the server token. Can someone provide instructions on how to tunnel/ssh into a Synology server from a Win10 pc? Or is there another solution to reclaim an existing server? Should I delete every server instance? I tried deleting my browser caches nothing seems to work so I think I need to manually delete the server token. I dont think it’s a DNS issue as I’m using the previous DNS that worked prior to unclaiming the server in question. Located in the bay area I also tried changing my DNS to the slower google DNS but that did not solve my claim server problem.
