I updated Plex Media Server on my Synology NAS to v 1.19.2645 and immediately had problems with my media; yellow explanation marks on all of them.
So after trying several things I uninstalled Plex Media Server, deleted the Plex user and the Plex share from the Synology.
Now when accessing my Synology from it’s Local IP and then launching Plex Media Server, I get the message “This server is unclaimed and not secure. Claiming this server will associate it with your Plex account. This helps your devices find each other and helps keep your media safe.” When clicking on"claim server" the Plex login screen with my email address appears. Clicking on “Sign in” I get a message “There was a problem signing into Plex”.
I have tried clearing cookies, on Firefox and Chrome to no effect.
I have also created a new Plex Basic user and this didn’t work either.
The computer used it Windows 10 1909.
Any help or hints as to what to try next would be great.
Hi rickburt,
It seems like it’s a server side issue as it (as far as you told me) worked before and a server shouldn’t unclaim itself. Try reinstalling the server may solve the problem, your media won’t be affected by that.
Thank you trumpy81, I did get it working last night. I changed my router from a Draytek 2862ac to a Sophos XG. After that swap the Claim server function went straight through.
