Error s1001 (Network)

Hello!

I have just installed a fresh copy of Plex Media Server, and have been attempting to get it set up. However, whenever I attempt to play something from the Web Player, it comes up with Error s1001(Network). I have been scouring the internet attempting to figure out what exactly the problem is, but it seems to be each person solves it a different way, some by reset their database, some by reinstalling, and some by rebooting their servers. I have attached my logs, to see if there is anything that can be done. Also, I apologize if the logs came out Verbose, as I had that enabled earlier to try to find the problem. I turned it off, and recreated the problem, but they may still remain verbose. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Check the DHCP server’s lease time and the ethernet cables.

Something is making the server’s adapter think it’s changing multiple times every second.

I had just replaced the Ethernet cable, as the previous one I had was old. I am not 100% sure, but I do not believe I can access any of the advanced settings on my router, as it is an Xfinity-Owned XFi router, but it shouldn’t be updating multiple times a second, should it?

Ok, I think I have found the problem, and I have applied somewhat of a BandAid solution to it. I found that for some reason, my Pi has connected to the WiFi of my router, along with the Ethernet cable I had attached. I somehow figured out how to pause the WiFi on it for now, but it will probably turn back on once it reboots. I have been trying to figure out how to delete the password with no luck, as the directory where the passwords are supposedly saved is empty.
(BTW, running Server on Ubuntu Raspberry Pi 3)

If you’re running wired and wifi – recommend you stop using WiFi.

Hint: Servers on WiFi is not the best practice because it cuts the usable wifi bandwidth in half as well as introduces latency between player and server. (only one device can talk at a time on WiFi where ethernet is full duplex)

I get that. i have been trying to figure out how to disable the WiFi on the Pi, but nothing I do works permanently, as it turns on again shortly afterwards. And now, because it wasn’t weird enough, it is only active when my PC is on.

On my system here I went in and hard turned it off in /etc/network (deleted it)

What did you delete? I have 4 files, if-down.d if-post-down.d if-pre-up.d if-up.d, and they seem to be empty. Also, I found out that my USB drive keeps unmounting itself for some gosh-darn reason, so I need to find a way to permanently mount it to the directory.

sudo ip link set wlan0 down

In addition to that, go to settings > network and choose your eth0, then restart Plex Server application.

Ok, finally think I got everything, except the Drive thing, as it keeps dismounting every 5 minutes. I gave added this to /etc/fstab:

UUID=<DriveUUID> /media/vault auto nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show 0 0

and yet, the drive somehow unmounts itself on reboot, or randomly. I noticed that after it stops, when I run lsblk, the drive’s name has changed, from sda to sdb, or vice versa.

As for mount options, I keep them simple

UUID=<UUID> /not-media/location ext4 defaults,auto,rw,nofail,bg 0 0

Bringing Gnome into it too tightly drives PMS nuts with permissions.
